We have several ranges of prayer wheel from hand held prayer wheel to table top and hanging type. According to the lineage texts on prayer wheels, prayer wheels are used to accumulate wisdom and merit (good karma) and to purify negativities (bad karma). In Buddhism, Buddhas and Bodhisattvas have created a variety of skillful means (upaya) to help bring practitioners ever closer to realizing enlightenment. The idea of spinning mantras relates to numerous Tantric practices whereby the Tantric practitioner visualizes mantras revolving around the nadis and especially around the meridian chakras such as the heart and crown. Therefore, prayer wheels are a visual aid for developing one's capacity for these types of Tantric visualizations.
All of our prayer wheels are handcrafted produced by skilled artisans of lalitpur. Inside the prayer wheel is a scroll with the mantra "Ohm Mani Pradme" repeated 50 times. According to myth, spinning the wheel by one revolution will evoke 50 blessing. One can easily attain 1000 blessing per minute by appropriate spinning of the wheel. |

We carry a collection of Nepalese Pashmina Scarves, Shawls, Stoles and dresses in competitive price. Color chart is available on demand. The word pashmina said to have come from the ancient Persian word “pashm” which means wool. Nepal is gaining international recognition for best quality pashmina produts. Cultivated from a rare breed of goats found only at 12,000 to around 14,500 feet above sea level in the Himalayan regions of Nepal the pashmina is considered the best texture of wearing. The goats from where the pashmina comes are called the “capra hircus.” In order for these goats to protect themselves from the harsh temperate climate, the goats have developed short, thin and shiny inner coats on their underbelly over time. These short inner hairs have proven to be the best natural insulation. When these goats shed their hair during spring, these are collected to form the pashmina. |
