The Batik portray Akshobhya, second Dhyani Buddha (Buddhas In Meditation), as regarded by Nepalese Buddhists. Akkshobya originates from the blue syllable Hum. He exhibits the Bhusparsa (touching earth) mudra which signifies calling the earth for witness, and sits in the vajraparyanka pose. His left hand rest on the lap, while the right rest on the right knee with the tip of the middle fingers touching the ground with palm drawn inwardly. He represents the primordial cosmic element of Vijnana (consciousness).
